Polar Equatorial Temperature Gradiant

The Polar Equatorial Temperature Gradient (PETG) has flattened as the Arctic regions have warmed. This may suggest the polar jet stream have become more wavy. Jennifer Francis has some interesting plots indicating it has become more wavy and depending on one’s interpretation, there may be jet stream regimes. With shifts between them based upon the slope of the PETG.
